THEN & NOW: The Cast Of 'Mean Girls' 10 Years Later

Mean Girls

This April marks a decade since The Plastics ruled the halls of North Shore High School, taking new student Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) along for the crazy, Burn Book-filled ride.

Aside from giving us many memorable quotes (see: "She doesn't even go here!"), the film, written by Tina Fey, boosted the careers of many in its cast.

While some actresses, like Rachel McAdams (Regina) and Lizzy Caplan (Janis) continued to have successful careers in Hollywood, other actors such as Rajiv Surendra (Kevin) and Daniel Franzese (Damian) went on to pursue more artistic ventures.

It's almost the 10-year anniversary of "Mean Girls"— let's see what our favorite high school students and teachers are up to now.

THEN: Lindsay Lohan played Cady Heron, a high school student who is forced to navigate manipulative friendships, dating, and gossip after moving to a new school.

NOW: Lohan, 27, is making a comeback after several stints in rehab and legal troubles.

The former child star, known for her leading roles in "Parent Trap" and "Life-Size," announced at the Sundance Film Festival this week that she will produce and star in a new film titled "Inconceivable."

The announcement follows Lohan's continued comeback from five years of rehab stints and run-ins with the law.

She's filming a docu-series for the Oprah Winfrey Network after a failed turn in the 2013 erotic thriller "The Canyons."

Since "Mean Girls," Lohan has also appeared on "That '70s Show" and "Ugly Betty" and has even released two music albums between 2004 and 2005.

THEN: Rachel McAdams played Regina George, the leader of the mean-girl pack.

How Tracey Wigfield Jumped From '30 Rock' Assistant To Emmy-Winning Comedy Writer

Tracey Wigfield Tina Fey Emmy AwardTracey Wigfield, 30, had the post-college trajectory most students only dream of.

After Wigfield graduated from Boston College in 2005 where she majored in theater, Tina Fey hired her as a writers' assistant on "30 Rock."

"I was like 23 or 24 years old and not super confident about my abilities at all," Wigfield told Refinery29, about being in the writers' room. "I was so in my head, I would think of a joke, and I would wait like 20 minutes and in my head [be] thinking, ‘Should I say it? Just say it! No, don’t say it!’ Then, I would finally come out with it, and either people would laugh or they wouldn’t."

Two years into the job, Wigfield heard the show was looking to hire a new staff writer and submitted a spec script she wrote for "The Office" to Tina Fey. "After I gave Tina that, she hired me right off the bat," Wigfield told R29 in their recent "New Power Players" feature.

She was even bumped up to producer for 13 episodes of "30 Rock" between 2012 and the show's final season in 2013.

This September, Wigfield won an Emmy alongside Fey for the final episode of "30 Rock," which the two co-wrote.

Despite the show being over, Wigfield learned valuable lessons from her mentor, Tina Fey.

"One thing that I learned from working with Tina was that everyone she hires for a show not only has to obviously be talented and creative and work really hard, but, most importantly, everyone she hires also has to be nice and respectful and kind," says Wigfield. "Tina really focuses on hiring good people that she trusts and who would respect each other."

After "30 Rock," Wigfield moved from New York to Los Angeles to take a job as a writer on "The Mindy Project," where she still works today.

"I got to start on the first season, and see it grow from its inception, and get to contribute to how the show looks and the kind of stories we tell," Wigfield says of the FOX comedy. "That’s been really cool and new for me."

But the biggest adjustment has been the dress code in the writers' room.

"You have to dress so much better with Mindy!" reveals Wigfield. "Tina is obviously so glamorous and beautiful, but when she was just coming in to work on a normal day, she would dress like myself or [how] any other writers I know dress — like a gym teacher ... But, Mindy is super into fashion. She’s super glam. And, I feel like she sort of expects her writers to step it up a little bit with how we dress."

As for whether Wigfield will follow in the footsteps of her famous female mentors, she says, "Yeah! If the opportunity came up, I would love to do what Mindy or Tina does and be a part of both worlds — behind the camera and in front of the camera. Acting and stand-up were so liberating for me when I first started writing, because such a big part of stand-up is just trying things out and failing."

Tina Fey Amy Poehler

While the rest of us were trolling Craigslist yesterday for affordable furniture and missed connections, the production team behind Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s comedy, "The Nest," was searching for a few last-minute cast members.

A Vanity Fair staffer happened upon the exact ad— which teased that it was casting for the “Tina Fey & Amy Poehler Film.”

Curious whether this was some kind of elaborate prank — our idea of the American dream involves being cast in a Tina Fey/Amy Poehler comedy without having to leave our couch — we reached out to a rep at Universal, who confirmed that the casting notice is indeed real.

The ad:

Per Variety, the two comediennes star in the film as “30-something sisters who come home to find their parents’ house has been put up for sale and then spend a last wild weekend together.” On Thursday, "The Mindy Project’s" Ike Barinholtz, who is said to star in the film as Poehler’s love interest, posted an Instagram of himself with Fey and Poehler on set.

Directed by "Pitch Perfect’s" Jason Moore and written by Paula Pell, "The Nest"is due in theaters on December 18, 2015.

Here's How Netflix Snagged Tina Fey's New Show From NBC

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Last week, it was announced that new Tina Fey-produced comedy "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" would move from NBC to Netflix before it even aired — and now Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos is explaining why.

After NBC worried "about the time of the year" the show would be released (March) and not having "a complementary program to launch it with," Sarandos tells Vulture he got a call from Fey.

"We got a call from Tina Fey and from Dave Miner to come to New York. We came up literally on the last day of production, watched some of the shooting. Met with Tina and the team, heard what they were planning, and said, 'Look, if you can work it out with NBC, we’d love to do it.' And within 12 hours, we’d seen nine of the 13 episodes. And within four days, the deal was done."

The show, starring "The Office" actress Ellie Kemper as a woman who escapes from a doomsday cult and starts life over again in New York City, is produced by "30 Rock" duo Fey and Robert Carlock, who have a longstanding relationship with NBC.

tina fey ellie kemper nbc"This was a strange opportunity where, usually when shows don’t make it, sometimes it has very little to do with the quality and it has everything to do with the time slot, the lead-in show, the time of year it came out," Sarandos explained to Vulture at the Gotham Independent Film Awards, where he received a career tribute award. "It was probably one of the most remarkable developments of the last couple of years in television."

And NBC boss Robert Greenblatt was on board with the swap from network TV to the streaming site, saying in a statement: "While it was originally developed for NBC, we have a very drama-heavy mid-season schedule so we’re thrilled about this Netflix opportunity; it’s an instant win-win for everyone, including Tina, Robert, and Universal Television. We’re already talking to these extraordinary creators about new development for NBC, but meanwhile, everyone here from Universal Television will do everything possible to see that 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' becomes a long-running hit on Netflix."

Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content at Netflix, added to Deadline: "The very construct of 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' — its offbeat premise, hilarious and rich characters and serialized storytelling — make it a perfect Netflix comedy series."

Friday, Netflix released its new comedy series, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

The series, comes from Tina Fey, and follows 29-year-old Kimmy (Ellie Kemper of “The Office”) as she adjusts to life in New York City after being saved from a Doomsday cult.

The majority of lead characters on the show, Kimmy (Kemper), Logan (Adam Campbell), and Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski), all use Apple’s iPhones regularly on the series.

Warning: There are minor spoilers ahead.

While speaking on the phone with Kimmy, Logan explains a new iPhone is coming out that same day, which means that all their old ones are going to break.

A bunch of big actors make surprise cameos on 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'

Warning: There are major spoilers below if you haven't finished "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."

Netflix launched the first season of Tina Fey's new show "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" March 6 to much hype and strong reviews

The series follows a group of women saved from a Doomsday cult in Indiana.

Fey's previous series, "30 Rock," never skimped on guest stars, hosting comedy legends (Jerry Seinfeld), former vice presidents (Al Gore), and Oprah.

So, it's no surprise that "Kimmy Schmidt" also includes a slew of surprise guest stars who play characters with pretty silly names.

Here are a few of the celebrities, actors, and comedians who show up on "Schmidt" ranked from least surprising to most.

7. Matt Lauer

Lauer Kimmy Schmidt

Given that it was set at Rockefeller Plaza, "30 Rock" was filled with NBC crossovers. Lauer, playing himself here, is the first one to interview the Indiana Mole Women after they are released from an underground Doomsday bunker. "Kimmy Schmidt" was originally shot for NBC before being picked up by Netflix, so its not a huge surprise to see Lauer here.

6. Nick Kroll

nick kroll unbreakable kimmy schmidt

Nick Kroll is one of comedy's rising stars. His brilliant "Kroll Show" on Comedy Central is in the midst of its final season. Kroll shows up in episode 11 as a fitness instructor named Tristafé.

5. Kiernan Shipka

Kiernan Shipka

Viewers may have been surprised during the episode "Kimmy Has a Birthday!" that when we were introduced to Kimmy's half-sister Kymmi (basically the same name with a spelling variation) that we were staring at Shipka who is best known for her role as Sally Draper on "Mad Men."

4. Martin Short

martin short unbreakable kimmy schmidtShort is coming off the release of his autobiography, a stint on Fox's now-cancelled "Mulaney," and a scene-stealing role in "Inherent Vice." Short once again steals the spotlight as plastic surgeon Dr. Franff when he's introduced in the show's fourth episode.

3. Dean Norris

unbreakable kimmy schmidt dean norris

Our jaws dropped when the "Breaking Bad" star stepped out of the shadows in episode ten. Norris made an appearance to play Titus' (Tituss Burgess) acting coach, Le Loup, on the series.

Since we were near the end of season one, we figured the cameos couldn't get any better. We were wrong.

2. Tina Fey

In case you all missed Liz Lemon, Fey pops up in her own show as an incompetent lawyer tasked with defending the Mole Women in court during the season's final stretch.

1. The actor who plays Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne

Can you tell who this is?

unbreakable kimmy schmidt jon hammSeason one's best kept secret is the identity of Reverend Wayne, the cult leader who kidnapped Kimmy and three other women.

Hamm may be best known as Don Draper in AMC's drama "Mad Men," yet his various hosting stints on "Saturday Night Live" and appearances in "Bridesmaids" and "Parks and Rec" have earned him a reputation as a comedic star.

Hopefully, we'll see more of him in season 2.

How a YouTube sensation made the catchy theme song for ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’

In the DVR-obsessed world we live in, one of the major casualties has been the opening theme songs of TV shows. After you've heard it once or twice, you’re fast-forwarding to the start of the episode without hesitation.

But with Tina Fey’s NBC-reject-turned-Netflix-gem“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” we can’t get enough of the auto-tune opening.

If you’re not watching the show (What, why aren’t you?), the first episode opens with Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) and her fellow cult members rescued by law enforcement from an underground bunker they’ve been living in for 15 years. With news reporters on site, one turns to interview an eye witness of the rescue, Walter Bankston, and in homage to famous meme Antoine “Bed Intruder” Dodson, his editorial of what went down becomes auto-tune gold … and the opening of every “Schmidt” episode.

Here’s Bankston’s interview:

Here it is auto-tune’d:

The auto-tune is from The Gregory Brothers, who are behind the YouTube series, Songify the News (aka Auto-tune the News). According to Indiewire, Fey and co-creator Robert Carlock always had an auto-tune theme in mind and reached out to The Gregory Brothers.

"They asked us to work on that video so that it had the look and feel and sound of something we might do on YouTube,” The Gregory Brother’s Evan Gregory told Indiewire. “The music and melody for the show theme was already composed by Jeff Richmond (Fey’s husband and composer), so we were able to come in and augment it, and add key elements of songification to achieve maximum catchiness."

If you can’t get enough of the song, someone on Tumblr mixed the opening theme with the music from the closing credits to produce a longer version. Netflix has since released a full clip on YouTube

Six ways that Tina Fey's new show 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' is just like '30 Rock'

tina fey ellie kemper

"30 Rock" fans rejoiced when it was announced Tina Fey and Robert Carlock would reunite on new comedy, "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."

Since "Kimmy Schmidt" just hit Netflix on March 6, it's too early to tell whether the show can live up to the success of "30 Rock," which ran for seven seasons and won the Emmy for best comedy series three years in a row. But after just one season, "Kimmy Schmidt" already stands on its own, thanks to its A-list cameosquirky humor, and a catchy theme song.

But hardcore "30 Rock" fans may have spotted a joke or two that echoed moments from Fey's other great sitcom.

Here are six of the most obvious "30 Rock" references in season one of "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."

1. The Jokes

Even if the dialogue sometimes comes off like improv, "Kimmy Schmidt" is very tightly scripted. Like "30 Rock" before it, there's plenty of quirky one-liners.

From "30 Rock":

And from "Kimmy Schmidt":

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Carol Kane

Kimmy Schmidt Kiernan Shipka

2. The Music

Mixed with the New York scenery, the show's jazzy score might give you some serious "30 Rock" flashbacks. It was also composed by Fey's husband Jeff Richmond, who also directed several episodes of "Kimmy Schmidt."

3. Language Misinterpretation

The comedically correct term for this would be "double-talk," something Fey seems to relish in. There are a lot of characters here who get Spanish wrong the same way Jack Donaghy's French sounded more like gibberish and Liz Lemon didn't remember as much German as she thought she did.

"Kimmy Schmidt" had a lot of fun with a cast of characters who could not understand a word of Spanish:

Kimmy Schmidt Spanish

4. "Can I Watch You Eat That?"

In one "Kimmy" episode, the stress of Jacqueline Voorhees' (Jane Krakowski) divorce makes her want to eat her feelings but without the calories, so she asks Kimmy to eat a burger in front of her.

Jane Krakowski Kimmy Schmidt

Jane Krakowski Kimmy Schmidt 2

She must have picked up that behavior from Jack Donaghy, who liked to watch people eat red meat in front of him while he was recovering from a heart attack early in season two of "30 Rock."

Jack Donaghy 30 Rock

5. Bad Doctors

One of the funniest recurring characters in "30 Rock" history is Dr. Spaceman (Chris Parnell), who is the go-to physician at "The Girlie Show," despite his blatant incompetence. He once claimed that "medicine is not a science."

Dr. Spaceman

Meanwhile, "Kimmy Schmidt" introduces us to Dr. Franff, an unattractive plastic surgeon, played perfectly by Martin Short.

Martin Short Kimmy Schmidt 2

6. Werewolves

One of the best cutaway jokes in "30 Rock" involved a song performed by Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) called "Werewolf Bar Mitzvah" (fun fact: Donald Glover wrote the song):

Jenna Maroney also played a werewolf during her days on "Night Court":

In "Kimmy Schmidt," lead character Titus finally gets his big acting break playing what else but a singing werewolf waiter.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

In November, it was announced that the new Tina Fey-produced comedy "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" would move to Netflix from NBC before it even aired.

After the surprising move to a streaming site from a network, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos is explaining why Netflix picked up the show.

Sarandos told Vulture that after NBC worried "about the time of the year" the show would be released (March) and the lack of "a complementary program to launch it with" he got a phone call:

We got a call from Tina Fey and from Dave Miner to come to New York. We came up literally on the last day of production, watched some of the shooting. tina fey ellie kemper nbc"This was a strange opportunity where, usually when shows don't make it, sometimes it has very little to do with the quality and it has everything to do with the time slot, the lead-in show, the time of year it came out," Sarandos told Vulture at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in December. "It was probably one of the most remarkable developments of the last couple of years in television."

NBC boss Robert Greenblatt was also on board with the swap from network TV to the streaming site, saying in a statement: "While it was originally developed for NBC, we have a very drama-heavy mid-season schedule so we're thrilled about this Netflix opportunity; it's an instant win-win for everyone, including Tina, Robert, and Universal Television. "The very construct of 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' — its offbeat premise, hilarious and rich characters, and serialized storytelling — make it a perfect Netflix comedy series,"adds Cindy Holland, VP of original content at Netflix.

While most of the "Kimmy Schmidt" episodes now streaming on Netflix had already been shot for network TV, a few extra raunchier jokes were able to weave their way back into the show after the move.

Netflix chief communications officer Jonathan Friedland says that now the show "is a little saucier."

Specifically, star Jane Krakowski tells Business Insider, "I think they did go back and try to breathe some of the jokes that we either cut for time, is what we've heard from Tina and Carlock. Jokes that didn't make it past some of the censors made it back in. Now that we have that freedom."

Tina Fey David LettermanLetterman, 68, will host his final show on May 20.

He recently told Rolling Stone that it's been hard for him to keep up with the viral content produced by his competition, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.

"If you look around at the other people doing it and look at me, it's almost like a pair of shoes you haven't worn in a hundred years," he said. "'Gee, I think we can probably get rid of these.' I still enjoy what I'm doing, but I think what I'm doing is not what you want at 11:30 anymore."

"I hear about things going viral and I think, 'How do you do that?'" Letterman continued. "I think I'm the blockage in the plumbing."

Letterman will say farewell to his show after 22 years at CBS with the help of a cadre of big stars, including Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah Winfrey, and one of the Obamas. Even former nemesis Jay Leno has been invited, according to the magazine, though he has yet to say whether he will make an appearance.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite in the only movie that dares to open up against 'The Force Awakens'

From their stint together on Weekend Update to their reign over the Golden Globes, a Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunion always brings laughs and makes headlines.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is that "Sisters," their latest comedy, will be the only other major movie to open on the same day as "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," which is likely to be one of the biggest movies of the year. "Sisters" won't come close to the box office numbers that "The Force Awakens" will get, but it could provide some nice counterprogramming.

"Sisters" will be out in theaters on December 18.

Tina Fey and Colin Jost agreed that Donald Trump's presidential run is 'wonderful' for 'SNL'

Tina Fey and Colin Jost definitely agree that Donald Trump's presidential campaign is a laughing matter.

Fey fielded questions on her Netflix series, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," during the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday.

When asked how she felt about Trump being the front runner in the GOP presidential race, the former "30 Rock" star responded, "It's great for comedy!"

Fey, who used to be the head writer for NBC's "SNL," added, “I’m sure ‘Saturday Night Live’ wished they were on the air right now."

colin jost snl weekend updateShe's certainly on the right track. Writer and "Weekend Update" co-anchor Colin Jost hopes that the Trump spectacle will still be going when "SNL" returns in the fall.

"It's crazy. I'm guessing he's still going to be around when we come back so hopefully it will have reached a nice fever pitch. It's just amazing," Jost told Business Insider while promoting his new film, "Staten Island Summer."

Jost is tickled at the idea that Trump may even advance in the race: "Who would not want to see Trump and Hillary [Clinton] debate?"

"It would be so wonderful, it's like as a comedy writer, and you don't care about America, you're just rooting for him as a comedy writer," he continued. "I don't think he's going anywhere. In the meantime, before it gets to an actual decision, I'm thrilled that he's around because the entertainment value is high."

Jason Guerrasio contributed to this report.

How streaming on Hulu helped 'The Mindy Project' become funnier than ever before

Mindy Kaling

In the past, when TV shows got canceled, there was no chance they would ever come back. It would only be years later, when somebody was rummaging through Sam Goody, that they'd find a DVD of the show, spread the word, and it would become a cult classic.

Now, as is the case with "The Mindy Project," nearly every show that gets canceled too soon has a second chance in the television afterlife that is known as streaming.

"The Mindy Project," created by and starring Mindy Kaling, ran for three seasons on Fox. The show, about a New York doctor (Kaling) searching for love and making a lot of missteps, was beloved by critics but had trouble finding a large audience. However, not long after Fox cancelled the show, Hulu picked it up for a full 26-episode season.

Mindy Project

The first episode of season four of "The Mindy Project" premiered on Hulu this past Tuesday.

At first glance, this episode might have felt like any other episode of "The Mindy Project." It even picked up directly where season three ended. However, if you watch and listen closely, you will notice a subtle difference: the episode's running time.

Mindy Kaling Tina Fey

During a conversation with Tina Fey at 92nd Street Y to promote her new book "Why Not Me?," Kaling opened up about her new-found sense of freedom on Hulu.

"It is nice for the first time in 11 years to write a show that does not have to be this specific time of 21 minutes and 40 seconds." Kaling told Fey.

The first episode of the fourth season of "The Mindy Project" runs at just a little under 28 minutes. On Fox, episodes ran anywhere from 21 to 23 minutes. Those few extra minutes that Hulu affords actually make a huge difference. Most network comedies have to cram a lot of jokes into a very short amount of time, and Hulu allows jokes and funny scenes to breathe.

If you compare the first Hulu episode to, say, an episode from season two on Fox, the difference is very visible. In earlier episodes, the cuts are quicker, and the jokes come faster. On Hulu, the scenes seem to go on much longer and uninterrupted.

Chris Messina Mindy Project

This benefits the actors as well. Kaling noted that Chris Messina, who plays her boyfriend Danny Castellano, started his career as a dramatic actor. The biggest difference between comedy and drama is pace, so he had a lot to get used to. Meanwhile, it allowed comedic actors in the cast like Ike Barinholtz more time to riff.

Fey, who noted that every episode of "30 Rock" had to be exactly 21 minutes and 15 seconds on NBC, concurred. While the first season of her Netflix series "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" was originally shot for NBC, season two will take the new format into account.

"We're trying to find a way to be the same show but still take advantage of the longer time." Fey said.

You can watch new episodes of "The Mindy Project" every Tuesday on Hulu.

Mindy Kaling wants to write a rom-com for Tina Fey and George Clooney

Mindy Kaling Tina Fey

Mindy Kaling, the star and creator of Hulu series "The Mindy Project," has never been shy about her love of romantic comedies.

Chances are, if you've never seen "You've Got Mail,""Sleepless in Seattle," or just about any Meg Ryan movie, then a lot of "The Mindy Project" will go right over your head.

During a conversation with Tina Fey at 92nd Street Y to promote her new book "Why Not Me?," Kaling revealed that she would love to write and direct her own rom-com film.

Screen Shot 2015 09 17 at 2.57.18 PM

In fact, she already has a really good idea for one, and has two stars picked out as well.

"I think it was probably 8 years ago you probably don't remember this but during the second season of '30 Rock' I had an idea...and this is true...I wanted to write a romantic comedy for you and George Clooney." Kaling told Fey.

Fey did not deny this.

If Kaling really did come up with this idea as the second season of "30 Rock" was going on, then that means it was around 2007. That was when Kaling was rising through the ranks as both a writer and star of "The Office" and Fey had already cemented herself as one of the funniest people on television.

Mindy Kaling Tina Fey

Kaling remarked that this was a time when Fey was appearing in a lot of magazines, which typically described her as a "sexy librarian." Kaling's rom-com idea would play off this public persona.

"George Clooney was this Indiana Jones type professor at this college. And he would come in to classes with all these antiquities and all the girls loved him and he was a big hero on campus. And you worked at the library and he'd always throw the antiquities at you and be really obnoxious. And you'd go on an adventure." Kaling said.

George Clooney

Right now, the only real connection between Fey and Clooney are a few of the stinging one-liners she has laid on him over the years as Golden Globes host.

"'Gravity' is nominated for best film. It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.'" Fey joked while co-hosting the Golden Globes with Amy Poehler in 2014.

In reality, Fey is 45 while Clooney is 54.

Fey also asked Kaling if she'd want to write a romantic novel. She would, but she's a little busy right now.

Mindy Project

"We have 26 episodes this year. Maybe when we're done with that." Kaling said.

However, based on the audience response that night, which included possibly that loudest applause I've ever heard in my life, people are clamoring for this collaboration to happen.

Tina Fey was asked to name 20 Latino actors and she couldn't do it

tina fey billy eichner

Actor Billy Eichner is best known for his guerrilla style television show "Billy on the Street," where he runs up and down the streets of Manhattan playing games and screaming at unsuspecting New Yorkers.

Turns out, not even Tina Fey is safe when it comes to Eichner's antics.

The "30 Rock" star is featured in Eichner's latest video, where Eichner asks Fey to pretend she is giving a timed Oscar acceptance speech and name 20 Latino performers in 60 seconds as part of a game called "LaTina Fey."

Even though she's laughing, from the second the countdown begins, Fey looks like she knows she's in trouble. To be fair, it's a lot of pressure, no matter what the question is.

"The woman from 'Jane the Virgin,'" Fey says as her first guess. For the record, that woman is Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez.

From there, Fey begins to pick up speed, naming actors Eva Longoria, Lou Diamond Phillips, Danny Trejo, and both Freddy Prinze Jr. and Sr. She also names Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.

As the clock begins to dwindle, Fey's answers get more vague.

"That guy that's in Congress," she says. "The really handsome guy who was on 'Law and Order.'"

She manages to remember Broadway stars Lin-Manuel Miranda and Daphne Rubin Vega.

BuzzFeed's Alex Alvarez points out on Twitter that "a lot of the examples given at the end were Spanish actors, not Latino." As the clock ticks down, Fey collapses to the ground having been unable to complete the challenge successfully.

"Mark Cuban, does he count," Fey asks from the sidewalk, referencing the host popular reality show "Shark Tank."

Two of "Saturday Night Live's" most famous alums are returning to Studio 8H.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are set to co-host the last new episode of 2015 on December 19, NBC announced Tuesday.

The two, who are promoting their upcoming film "Sisters," will share the stage with musical guest Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

This is just the latest co-hosting gig for the two, who co-hosted the Golden Globes for the last three years. Both women more recently appeared on the "SNL 40th Anniversary Specialin February and Fey returned in October to help welcome back her former "30 Rock" co-star Tracy Morgan when he hosted the show. This is Fey's third time hosting and Poehler's second.

Ryan Gosling will host for the first time on December 5, along with musical guest Leon Bridges. Chris Hemsworth will follow on Dec. 12 with musical guest Chance the Rapper. This is Hemsworth's second time hosting.

"SNL" airs Saturdays at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.

This is why Tina Fey and Amy Poehler never want to star in a TV show together

Despite having been BFFs since their Chicago improv days in the early 90s, and having proven their undeniable chemistry on SNL, in movies, and hosting the Golden Globes, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will probably never produce a TV show together.

Fey recently revealed to The Advocate that, "She and I haven't really talked about this, but I don't know if we could ever do a series together. We're both alphas who like to do our own thing and then meet up occasionally."

Fey and Poehler previously co-anchored "Weekend Update" on "Saturday Night Live," co-starred in movies like "Mean Girls" and "Baby Mama," and co-hosted the Golden Globes for three years.

Their new movie, "Sisters," hits theaters December 18th.

"What makes it great now is that the only time we see each other is when we work on things, hosting the Golden Globes, doing 'Sisters,'" Fey added. "So those experiences are exciting and fun."

But Fey and Poehler will work together again soon, as the two are co-hosting "SNL" on December 19th.
