Will Ferrell Kristen Wiig Golden Globes Intro

The 70th annual Golden Globes were the most well-received telecast in recent history and the show hit a six-year ratings high.

With help from funny co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the showfor the most partwent smoothly.

Highlights included Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell as presenters, a drunk Glenn Close, Bill Clinton's surprise appearance and Ben Affleck cleaning up despite his Oscars snub.

See who else made our list of most buzz-worthy moments from Sunday's big show.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were hilarious hosts.

Some zingers from their opening monologue:

Poehler said she hasn't paid attention to the "Zero Dark Thirty" torture controversy, "But when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron," referencing director Kathryn Bigelow.

And discussing their Golden Globes looks, Fey joked, "The Hunger Games" isn't just a movie. It's what I call the six weeks it took me to get into this dress." Poehler perfectly followed up with, "Ang Lee's been nominated for 'Life of Pi' which is what I'm going to call the six weeks after I take this dress off!"

They then roasted everyone from Ben Affleck to Sarah Palin. Watch the opening monologue below:

Thanks to pal Steven Spielberg, Bill Clinton made a surprise appearance to introduce "Lincoln."

The former president took the stage to a standing ovation to present Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln," one of the nominees for best motion picture drama.

While everyone seemed to be surprised by the 42nd president's presence, a source tells E! Online, "It was not a last-minute thing. It was in the works and came together about five days ago."

The idea for Clinton's secret appearance reportedly came from Steven Spielberg's camp, with the source adding, "Steven and Bill are quite close."

Clinton introduced the film by saying: "President Lincoln’s struggle to abolish slavery reminds us that enduring progress is forged in a cauldron of both principal and compromise. This brilliant film shows us how he did it and gives us hope that we can do it again."

Watch his full appearance below:

Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig gave a hilarious introduction for Best Actress in a Comedy.

Many now even think they should be next year's hosts. It's a must-watch:

Tina Fey Shows David Letterman Surveillance Tape Of Her Office Burglary

Tina Fey burglary surveillance footage

Tina Fey recently moved to a small office in Manhattan, where she writes jokes and thinks of new TV show ideas alongside three other people.

But as soon as Fey and her comic crew moved into their new office space, "we immediately got robbed," she told David Letterman while appearing on the "Late Show" Wednesday.

"What happened was we have this small office and these moving guys moved some stuff in and they told us we had to go downstairs to sign for it and then I think one of the moving guys went upstairs and stole a computer," Fey explained. "And that had all my ideas on it."

"It wasn't Jay Leno, was it?" Letterman joked.

"The police were helpful," Fey assured sarcastically, "but it's hard, New York's a big city and you're like 'some guy stole my jokes' and they're like 'yeah, we'll get right on it.'"

Fortunately, Fey was able to catch her alleged burglar by going over surveillance tape. And luckily for us, Fey and Letterman chose to air the surveillance footage "against all legal counsel."

Miley Cyrus, Tina Fey, And Bruce Willis Kick Off 'SNL' This Season

tina fey amy poehler saturday night live snl sarah palin

Tina Fey is returning to "Saturday Night Live,""don't cha' know?"

The former Weekend Update anchor and Sarah Palin impersonator will host the 39th season opener on September 28.

It's her fourth time hosting since she left the show in 2006.

Fey's familiar face will help balance out the crop of "SNL" newbies, replacing leading men Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, and Bill Hader. Head writer Seth Meyers is slated to depart in the fall, when he takes over Jimmy Fallon's "Late Night" desk.

The celebrities picked to host the following two episodes are pure ratings bait — having made unflattering headlines recently.

Fresh off her cringeworthy MTV Video Music Awards performance, Miley Cyrus tackles both the hosting and musical guest gigs on October 5.

Bruce Willis, who bailed on "Expendables 2,"much to the dismay of co-star Sylvester Stallone, will host for the second time on October 12. Katy Perry is the musical guest.

Fey will be joined by musical guest Arcade Fire, whose first single off the highly anticipated "Reflektor" album drops Monday night.

Fingers crossed Sarah Palin does something silly before the end of the month to warrant one of Fey's inimitable impressions.

Tina Fey And Amy Poehler To Return As Golden Globe Hosts In 2014 And 2015

Tina Fey Amy Poehler

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have closed deals to host of the next two Golden Globe Awards, starting with the Jan. 12, 2014 ceremony.

Fey and Poehler were approached about coming back over the summer, following the duo’s very successful first Golden Globes turn this year, which drew warm critical reception and big ratings.

Fey and Poehler solidified their status as TV’s hottest comedy act last month with their scene stealing bit at the Primetime Emmys, which became the highlight of the show’s opening.

Unlike Ricky Gervais’ original Golden Globes hosting deal, which had an option for a second year, Fey and Poehler had agreed to host the 2013 ceremony as a one-time thing with no obligation to come back.

But, given their success, it was no surprise that NBC, Golden Globes producer Dick Clark Prods. and the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. wanted to get them back.

The Fey/Poehler-hosted January ceremony drew 19.7 million viewers, up 17% from last year and one of the most watched Globes ever. In the key adults 18-49 demo, the show posted a 6.4 rating, up 28% from 2012.

“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” said NBC’s alternative programming president Paul Telegdy. “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”

Both Fey and Poehler have impeccable live show credentials as Saturday Night Live veterans who both have returned to host the venerable late-night show, including hosting SNL season premiers (most recently Fey last month).

“Tina and Amy have a truly unique chemistry making them one of the most talented and captivating pairings of all-time,” said DCP CEO Allen Shapiro.

The two are able to fit the Globes into their busy schedules because of the show’s nature that doesn’t require months-log host preparation the way the Oscars do.

30 Rock creator Fey, in the first season under a mega four-year deal at Universal TV, is working on two high-profile comedy projects with a potential last-minute sale. Poehler is the star-producer of NBC’s Parks And Recreation, and the two also have active movie careers.

Poehler, who is working on her first book, will next be heard in the upcoming animated comedy “Free Birds” and seen in You Are Here.

Here is a highlight reel of  Fey and Poehler’s Golden Globe hosting stint this year as well as their Emmy bit:

The Best Part Of 'Anchorman 2' Features A Star-Studded Epic News Team Brawl

$

anchorman 2 ron burgundy will ferrellWarning: There are major spoilers ahead if you haven't seen "Anchorman 2" yet.

Possibly the best part of "Anchorman 2" takes place during the film's final leg when a multitude of celebrity anchors descend upon a Manhattan park for an epic news team brawl with Ron Burgundy.

We knew it was coming. Leaked set photos teased a big news team fight for months to come.

As enjoyable as the scene is — the build up introducing all the various news anchors may have outshone the actual fight which culminated in a more outrageous, less believable way than that of the first movie.

With a ghost, minotaur, and werewolf in the mix it makes absolutely zero sense, but looked like a lot of fun to film.

Here’s a list of all the celebrities we caught in the epic news fight sequence in order of appearance:

Sacha Baron Cohen: BBC news
Kanye West: MTV news
Tina Fey: Entertainment news
Amy Poehler: Entertainment news
Jim Carrey: Canadian news team
Marion Cotillard: Canadian news team
Will Smith: ESPN
Liam Neeson: History Channel
John C. Reilly: The ghost of Stonewall Jackson (really)
Harrison Ford: news reporter, Mack Tannen
Kirsten Dunst: Trumpet sounder who started the news team fight.

Finally, Vince Vaughn reprised his role of Wes Mantooth of the Channel 9 News team.

Missing from the pack were Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson.

We believe we also spotted Judd Apatow on one of the news teams during the fight sequence.

Bonus celebrities during the movie:

Singer Drake makes an appearance in the first minutes of the film rocking an awesome afro.
Dan Akroyd plays one of Veronica Corningstone's (Christina Applegate) co-workers.

Notice anyone else? Let us know.

Tina Fey Amy Poehler

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler resumed their Golden Globes hosting duties for the second year in a row by welcoming "all of the women and gay men watching from home."

After noting the especially star-studded crowd this year, the duo went on to mock a slew of celebrities:

  • "Matt Damon, on any other night in any other room, but tonight — and don't take this the wrong way  you're basically a garbage person."
  • "Meryl Streep is so great in 'August Osage County' that she's still proving there's great roles for Meryl Streeps over 60.
  • "Martin Scorsese is here: Bobby and Bobby and Danny say hi."
  • "Bradley Cooper is here, star of 'American Hustle.' Interesting trivia: the original title of that movie was 'Explosion at the wig factory.'"
  • "Amy Poehler is nominated for her work on 'Parks and Recreation.' I believe Amy is here tonight can we get a shot of her? She looks fantastic, hard to believe she's a 42-year-old mother of two."

Jennifer Lawrence Amy Poehler

  • "Our friend Julia Louis Dreyfuss has two nominations tonight. Interestingly, Julia has chosen to sit in the film section tonight. Hi Julia, you know us from TV. Gosh, she's really changed. She's gross."

Julia Louis Dreyfus Reese Witherspoon

  • "Woody Allen is the recipient of the Cecil B. Demille award, just a few years after Martin Scorsese won it. I assume the award is for tiniest man with the biggest glasses."
  • "'Gravity' is nominated for best film. It's the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age."
  • "One of my favorite movies this year is 'Her,' which takes place in the not-so-distant future, which is perfect because so does Joaquin Phoenix."
  • "Matthew McConaughey did amazing work this year. For his role in 'Dallas Buyer's Club' he lost 45 pounds, or what actresses call being in a movie."
  • "'The Wolf of Wall Street' is a big film tonight. But I mean some of it was too graphic, if I wanted to see Jonah Hill masturbate at a pool party, I'd go to one of Jonah Hill's pool parties."
